This Sporting Rifle is gas-operated and can only be fired in semi-auto mode. All metal parts are made from high-quality, alloyed steels. The receiver is made from one solid-piece of steel block & the barrel is Hammer Forged & Chrome lined. Modular Muzzle Device ships with Muzzle-Bushing. This can be removed by gunsmith and changed to provide extra SVD style flash hider by the 5/8x24 thread. The classic Dragunov style stock set is made out of high quality walnut with a pickled-protected finish.
FEG Vedelmi Rendszerek Zrt developed, manufactured, and assembled the product model. (FEG Defense Systems CJSC), Hungary, as a Dedicated Sporting Rifle. This was in accordance with the Gun Control Act's importation guidelines. The Application and Permit to Import Firearms was received by the HD-18 and was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearm and Explosives.
